Joseph H. Davis Scholarship Fund

The Joseph H. Davis, M.D. Scholarship Fund was created in furtherance of forensic pathology education and provides financial assistance for Florida’s future forensic pathologists who might not otherwise be able to attend the annual Florida Association of Medical Examiners (FAME) educational conference due to financial constraints. Dr. Davis was a mentor of thousands of forensic pathologists during his lifetime, as this fund was created to preserve his legacy. Please consider donating to the Joseph H. The Florida Association of Medical Examiners (FAME) has three categories of members: active, affiliate, and emeritus:
  • Active members are any Florida district or associate medical examiners as defined in Florida Statute 406.06.
  • Affiliate members are any other professional employees (excluding medical examiners) of a Florida medical examiner office. These professional employees include, but are not limited to, death investigators, autopsy assistants, medical examiner administrators, odontologists, toxicologists, anthropologists, and others.
  • Emeritus members have retired from service as a medical examiner at a Florida medical examiner office.

You are eligible for FAME membership if you are a Florida medical examiner or work in a professional capacity at a medical examiner now or have retired from such service.  Please fill out a NEW MEMBER FAME application (if you are a NEW FAME member) or a CURRENT member renewal (if you are an existing FAME member)  and send with a check for $25 (active member) or $10 (affiliate member) made out to the "Florida Association of Medical Examiners" to:

Interest in forensic science or medical examiners does NOT make one eligible for FAME membership. You must be a medical examiner or professional working for a medical examiner in Florida. Out-of-state medical examiners and professionals are also NOT eligible for FAME membership.
